Sinus Lift

First, the oral surgeon will make an incision in the gums. They will then lift up the gum tissue to expose the bone. Next, they will create a small opening in the bone. This will give them access to the sinuses.

Once they have access to the sinuses, they will gently lift up the sinus lining. They will then place bone graft material in the area. The bone graft material will help to support the dental implants. Finally, the oral surgeon will close the incisions with sutures.

The second stage of the procedure is typically performed 4-9 months after the first stage. This is because the bone needs time to heal. During the second stage, the oral surgeon will place the dental implants. Once the implants are in place, they will be left to fuse with the bone. After a few months, the dental implants will be ready to support a dental prosthetic. This could be a denture, bridge, or crown. 

Rest. It’s important to rest after a sinus lift. This will help your body to heal properly.

Eat soft foods. Eating soft foods will help to prevent irritating the surgical site.

Avoid smoking. Smoking can delay healing and increase the risk of complications.

Practice good oral hygiene. Practice good oral hygiene by brushing and flossing your teeth carefully.

Avoid irritating the surgical site. This means that you should avoid activities that could irritate the surgical site, such as blowing your nose or wearing a dental prosthetic.

Prescriptions. Be sure to take any prescribed medication as directed. If you experience any pain or soreness, be sure to take over-the-counter medication.
